  • freaks out a lil when you tell him you`re pregnant
  • tries his best to hide his fears from you so you don`t become stressed out
  • he`s pretty much a bundle of nerves until you first appointment
  • he insists on going with you and misses practice to be there
  • asks the doctor half a million questions about your growing baby
  • he is finally relieved when he sees your ultrasound and sees your baby on the screen
  • he`s very protective of you both already and doesn`t let you lift a finger if you don`t have to at home
  • when you find out what you`re having, he can`t be there but you skype him afterwards
  • he tears up when he finds out he`s going to be the dad of a little boy
  • he comes home with an infant sized version of his jersey so his son can be “just like daddy”
  • you have a hard time deciding on a name so Tyler asks his teammates for some help
  • you guys decide on Maverick James, because you feel like it sounds perfect for a little hockey player
  • he talks to Maverick every day when he`s home, and is always very affectionate
  • he tries to plan things out so he can be home when you go into labour
  • you happen to start having contractions two days before he was supposed to be off for a week to be with you
  • you phone him on your way to the hospital but make him promise he`ll finish the game before coming, because you want to be able to tell your son his daddy won twice the night he was born.
  • Tyler rushes into your room just after Maverick is born, the Stars won 4-3 in OT.
  • he`s upset that he`s late but the minute he sees you holding your son, he just feels overwhelmed with happiness
  • he runs up to you and kisses your forehead as he strokes Maverick`s head
  • “he`s gorgeous, babe” 
  • he absolutely loves spending time with your son and is always a proud, bragging dad
  • he buys Maverick his first mini stick for his second birthday and teaches him how to play hockey in your basement
  • Maverick idolizes his daddy and Tyler idolizes you and your son
